Bad Customer Service Must End
Hi everybody, I pray that you all have been well.
I have consistently noticed that the customer service in the United States has become un- acceptable. It is bad enough that the price of items and services has become astronomical; but to couple that with bad customer service is not good for anybody.
I recently was speaking with a customer service agent regarding a service I was trying to purchase from the company she represented. Not only was she smacking gum and was using horrible English; but she had a bad attitude. I couldn't believe it; that she would represent a company that relied on customers to increase their bottom line; but these were the people that were paying her salary as well.
I don't know about you; but I was raised to be respectful and to treat people with dignity because I was representing them and representing myself on the phone and sometimes in person. I don't know what is going on with the horrible English either, because my parents wouldn't let us say "uh huh", "huh" "yeah" and "naw" and "where you at"to them. We had to say "yes, no, I will be right there and where are you" when they called us. What happened to teaching the children to use correct English when speaking? What happened to teaching children to be respectful of those they are speaking with? What happened to making sure your child is trained on proper etiquette and how to speak properly to handle situations without using a lot of profanity and having bad attitudes? Teaching them and training them when they are young will show up in them when they are older and have to deal with people.
Some parents have gotten away from the Old School ways of teaching and training up thir children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). We need to get back to training our children up so they can be productive adults intheir communities and in their world. That young lady I spoke to on the phone was obviously not trained to not chew gum while speaking to someone on the phone. She was obviously not trained to speak correct English; and to have a better attitude at work. Some parents have also gotten away from taking their children to the House of the Lord so they can learn how to sit still, listen and behave, which actually should start at home. Also the word teaches us to "honor father and your mother that your days will be long upon the land which the Lord your God has given you, (Exodus 20:12).
It seems that more companies need to spend money on training their employees how to speak properly on the phone, how to respond to customers and how to deal with situtions that have arise that are out of the normal. Having quality customer service and quality customer srvice agents is always good for business, and will draw repeat customers.
I don't know; but what I do know is that I thank God for my parents teaching me the correct way to handle myself in all situtions and how to be polite and treat people the way I would want to be treated. I also thank God that I got some "whippings" in my life to learn how to do what I am told and not to be disrespectful. Maybe that is what is missing in this society, childen being disciplined and taught how to respect their Elders as we were taught.
I will end this blog posting right here, cause it is time to pray for the parents of the children in this land. That they will get an understanding of how good training of a child goes a long way to adulthood.
Just to let you know; I didn't order the service, the customer service representative was just too rude for me to spend my money with them.
Thank God for Old School teaching and training.
